Work Day 1st July 2017

Pete Harry found a finger mark wm.jpg

Another good day on site returning the fittings to the LCP cabin by the two Pete’s, Pete H and Pete M. Pete H says that in the photo above he was cleaning sealant from the chrome lock covers and not polishing the LCP [Ed. I think he found a finger mark!].  As the LCP is being hand painted we can leave some shiny points of interest unlike when in service when the LCP was simply sprayed all over, we are dealing with exhibition standard here.

The focus was on the side awning rails and the roof catches. Refitting is not straight forward as rails are unique to each position so there is a bit of working out to do. All bolt and machine screw holes need reeming out and threaded holes have to be re-tapped to clear paint, old sealant and corrosion.

New leather securing straps for the awning rails have now been sourced, here is one in position but not yet secured to the cabin.

All cable duct covers are now refitted. Two of the covers for the firing lines cable ducts have been replaced with two salvaged from LCP Ser. No. 1006 due to the original covers being bent.

The rubber plug and socket covers still need refitting, they have all been refurbished and have new lanyards so at some stage it is a case of refitting and attaching the lanyards.

Pete M gave the simulator a good run through and all remains serviceable.
